Nirupama Rao Joins Network 18

Network18 recently appointed Nirupama Rao as their Non-Executive Independent Director.

Nirupama Rao who has served as Indian Ambassador to the US and as Foreign Secretary of India joins on Network18  board as Non- Executive Director. Rao has served various roles such as, Minister of Press Affairs in Washington, Deputy Chief of Mission in Moscow, stints in the Ministry of External Affairs as Joint Secretary (East Asia), (External Publicity), Chief of Personnel, Ambassador to Peru and China, and High Commissioner to Sri Lanka.

Though there was no official statement issued but sources close to the development confirmed the news to Adgully. With this appointment the company will abide by the The Securities and Exchange Board of India's (SEBI) rule of having one women member in the Board of Directors before 1st April 2015.

As of now the company's Board Of Directors include Adil Zainulbhai, Deepak Parekh, Rajiv Luthra and Dhruv Kaji as independent directors.
