Nitish Kumar unveils the book titled "Akhon Mein Aakash'

Nitish Kumar, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Bihar unveiled a book titled "Akhon Mein Aakash' at Hotel Maurya in Patna on 16th of March, 2011. The Programme was organized by Jagran Pehel, a strategic social initiative of Jagran Praksahn Ltd. Eminent personalities of the sate and key stake holders from the project (SKCC) attended the release function.

Speaking on the occasion, Nitish Kumar said, "Encouragement and progress of the girls symbolizes the progress of the state. Considering that this (SKCC) project has brought about so much change in so short a time, I assure you that I will approve any proposal submitted to me for extending the project to other colleges and districts. My colleagues from Social Welfare and HRD are here at this function. They are requested to take this forward."

The Book features selected experiences of young women from Bihar . These experiences were collected during a joint Project of Jagran Pehel , Bihar State Development Corporation and UNFPA titled "Sapno Ko Chali Chooney'(SKCC).

The myriad experiences in the book describe perspectives and subjective emotions of young women from Bihar. And in between them, they throw a light on the status of women and their everyday struggles in life, reflecting survival, resilience, and courage and resolute.
