No takers for Indian team kit sponsorship; BCCI likely to extend deadline

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not received any bids for team skit sponsor and official merchandising partner rights on its stipulated deadline of September 1. The BCCI which had invited bids on August 3 now plans to set a new deadline for the bids.

According to media reports, Dream Sports (owner of Dream11 and FanCode), Universal Sportsbiz (owner of Wrogn) and The Walt Disney Company had picked up the tender documents. Adidas and Puma were the only MNCs that had shown interest in bidding for the rights.

BCCI has set the base price for merchandising partner rights at Rs 8 crores per year and the base price for team kit sponsorship at Rs 65 lakhs per match for the new three year cycle.
