'NO' to tobacco says MJ Yamini, Radio One

May 31st is World No Tobacco Day and 94.3 Radio One's Jockey Yamini encouraged youngsters to say NO to tobacco at the Pink Lips Concert. The musical concert was being organised in lieu of "World No Tobacco Day 2010' by Cancer Patients Aid Association. Supported by WHO and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare the concert had performances from prominent singers like Salim-Sulaiman, Shaan, Neha Bhasin, Shilpa Rao, Anusha Mani, Shruti Pathak, Shadaab Sabri, Meiyang Chang and many more.

As part of the association, MJ Yamini of 94.3 Radio One will share exclusive interviews of your favourite singers, who spoke about their beliefs on addiction of smoking and 94.3 Radio One's involvement with the cause of encouraging its listeners to say "NO' to tobacco. All this will be aired exclusively on World No Tobacco Day, May 31, 2010 only on 94.3 Radio One.

Speaking about the concert MJ Yamini said, "It was amazing to see so many Mumbaikar's come out and show their solidarity to create awareness around the ill-effects of tobacco. It indeed was a commendable cause to be associated with, as the ultimate objective of the concert was to create awareness about the ill-effects of tobacco with special focus on women and to encourage them to say no to tobacco. On a personal note, the concert was a wonderful and enriching experience for me."

Commenting on occasion Bavesh Janavlekar, Station Head Mumbai, said, "94.3 Radio One has always lived up to its listeners expectation by offering Mumbaikars an incredible experience with our Maximum Music and Maximum Choice; this is also reflected through our events, activities and associations. Speaking to MJ Yamini, Salim of the musical duo Salim-Sulaiman said, "94.3 Radio One has done a fantastic job by coming forward to support this amazing cause in a very strong way and I am proud and honored to be a part of this concert."

Adding to Salim's sentiment, Sulaimaan said, "We would like to express our gratitude to 94.3 Radio One for taking up such a noble cause."

Also on commenting on the occasion, Meiyang Chang of the Indian Idol fame added, "The present youth are extremely influential and intelligent enough to say NO to tobacco. 94.3 Radio One is doing a great job by associating itself with this noble cause and hope they continue associating with such remarkable causes."
