Not just Women's Day, it's a month long celebration of TV's most powerful female characters on Star World & Star World HD

Star World has been a pioneer of English Entertainment bringing some of the best TV shows from across the world to Indian audiences. Taking this trend forward, in the honour of International Women’s Day, Star World will air shows featuring some of TV’s most loved female characters all throughout March. Catch up with independent, strong and stunning women like Carrie Mathison (Homeland), Alex Parrish (Quantico), Jessica Christopher Day (New Girl), Rachel Goldberg and Quinn King (UnREAL) only on Star World and Star World HD.

Touted as one of the best shows of 2015, UnREAL is a drama about what goes behind the scenes during the making of a reality show. UnREAL explores the complicated relationship between its two female protagonists and explores the darker facets of their journey in the male-dominated world of television. This satirical show offers a murky view into the world of reality television played by Shiri Appleby as Rachel Goldberg, Everlasting’s manipulative producer and Constance Zimmer as Quinn King, the show’s demanding executive producer who is not afraid to push boundaries to maximize ratings. The show also stars Josh Kelly and Freddie Stroma of Harry Potter fame. UnREAL Season 1 airs from 4th March weekdays at 9pm.

On Women’s Day Star World and Star World HD will air back-to-back episodes of New Girl Season 4 from 12pm onwards. New Girl stars Zooey Deschanel as Jessica "Jess" Christopher Day, a bubbly, offbeat teacher in her early thirties. Hailed as one of TV’s best comedies, New Girl personifies the women of today with Deschanel’s character often being described as a woman who is sweet yet crass, innocent yet smart, dorky yet beautiful, and brash yet irresistibly adorable.

One of the most talked about TV shows in India today, Quantico featuring Priyanka Chopra in the ground-breaking role as FBI Agent Alex Parrish returns on 12th March with fresh episodes. A beautiful, ambitious and headstrong woman, Alex often compared to "The Terminator" by her fellow FBI agents. When Alex is wrongly accused of being a terrorist, she uses her wit, strength and determination to prove her innocence. Will she succeed to find the real terrorist? Find out on Quantico every Saturday at 9pm.

Homeland features Emmy-Award winning actress Claire Danes as Carrie Mathison, the brilliant and intense CIA agent with the ability to crack cases and find clues where others cannot. Diagnosed with bipolar disorder, she struggles to regulate her mental health while believing the only way she can figure out what's going on is to stop taking her medication. Claire’s character was touted as one of the most influential TV characters in 2010. Homeland in the previous seasons has also stared Damian Lewis, Nazanin Boniadi and Nimrat Kaur. Homeland season 4 starts on 18th March, weekdays at 9pm.
