Ogilvy Bangalore wins the communication mandate for Chumbak in India

Ogilvy Bangalore has been awarded the mandate for Chumbak after winning a multi-agency pitch.

Vivek Prabhakar and Shubhra Chadda began the Chumbak journey in March 2010. What started out as an idea to create fun and bright Indian souvenirs, Chumbak today has evolved into a lifestyle brand with offline presence in 12 Indian cities with 25 stores and an online presence across the country.

Given the brand’s ambition to expand current offerings and increase footprint across the country, Chumbak found in Ogilvy a partner to build its long-term brand identity and positioning. This will be followed by a brand campaign that will establish the brand uniquely in the consumer’s consideration set of lifestyle brands with a focus on their distinct Fashion story.

Vivek Prabhakar, CEO and Co-Founder of Chumbak spoke of the win: With the strong growth we have seen across our retail and online channels and our fast growing portfolios across Fashion and Home, we realised the need to work with a strong creative partner to help harness the Chumbak story. In Ogilvy we found the perfect partner to realise our ambitions both as a brand and a business.

Madhukar Sabnavis, Vice Chairman and Director- Client Relations, Ogilvy and Mather, India: Chumbak is an amazing brand that has built a substantial cult following over the last few years. We are happy to partner them in the next stage of their brand building journey. What's exciting is how to maintain the balance between consumer needs and designer dreams and intuition as Chumbak expands its footprint in the country.

The campaign is expected to break during the Diwali season this year.
