OLX Cash My Car appoints Bhaskar Bagchi as General Manager

OLX, a global product and tech company and India’s no.1 classifieds business, has announced the appointment of Bhaskar Bagchi as General Manager for OLX Cash My Car, a Naspers-backed initiative for pre-owned cars. Bhaskar will spearhead the India operations for the venture and will spearhead the strategy and growth of the company.

Our aggressive growth and penetration strategy will now be spearheaded by Bhaskar, who is a seasoned leader with a great wealth of experience in the service industry. I am confident that Bhaskar will successfully drive the growth of OLX CMC and establish the venture as a leader in the category.  

Bhaskar has 25+ years of diverse experience and expertise in setting up and handling large operations across e-commerce companies, banking, insurance, BPO/KPO, and scaling businesses with excellence. Prior to joining OLX Cash My Car, he served as the Chief Business Officer for PropTiger and was instrumental in the exponential growth of the company and guiding it to its operational break-even. Previously, he served in various leadership roles at IBM Daksh, India Homes, Citibank, Tata AIG Insurance and Standard Chartered Bank.

Bhaskar holds an MBA degree in Finance and Marketing from IIM Ahmedabad. 

OLX Cash My Car is a joint venture with Frontier Car Group (FCG). Frontier Car Group builds and operates pre-owned automotive marketplaces within emerging markets. Under the agreement, OLX and FCG will share technological resources, expertise and knowledge to build and operate OLX  Cash My Car stores across cities in India.

Naspers’ ambition to making transactions more convenient has been translated into the OLX CMC model in India. The convenient transactions model enhances the existing business and offers an alternative, hassle-free tool to buy and sell. OLX CMC was launched with ambitions to cater to the convenience-seeking Indians who are ready to sell their cars instantly. Since the launch, the venture has been growing at 15% every month and aims to expand the Cash My Car model to 150 centres across 40 cities by 2021.
