OML's evolution from NH7 Weekender to Casa Bacardi festival

Over the years, OML has been synonymous with on-ground and virtual festivals. From conceptualizing long running festivals such as BACARDÍ NH7 Weekender and Breezer Vivid Shuffle to bringing BC One and YouTube Fanfest to Indian audiences – to now unveiling an online virtual world that is built with the music fan in mind. OML is working with BACARDÍ to bring their platform Casa BACARDÍ to life on a virtual reality platform, Sansar, on 20th August 2021.

At Casa BACARDÍ, one can create digital avatars and interact with others at a virtual Caribbean Island using a VR set, PC or watch the stream on a browser or even just a mobile phone. What’s on offer? Music performances, exclusive after parties and more.

OML has always curated stellar performances by Indian and international artists. This year is no different. The line-up includes artists like DIVINE (Gully Gang), Tesher, MC Altaf, Tsumyoki, Kidd Mange, Gauriwho, and Natasha Diggs. Audiences will even get to be a part of the after-party that will showcase performances by Madstarbase and Sango.

Over the past 18 months, most events have moved to virtual platforms.  Undeterred, OML has continued to innovate so that one can experience digital events almost as though they are on-ground. In this edition, people can dance with friends, bar hop, participate in the interactive installations and photo-booths, play some fun games, and much more.

With spatial audio, a feature in Sansar, one can interact with people within the world and connect with like-minded viewers using the festival chat features - all from the comfort of one’s home.

What’s next? Stay tuned for OML’s own virtual destination that is going to have an ongoing cultural calendar for its own intimate comedy venue at our helipad - comics jetting in from their helicopters to perform on stage as well as a music performance venue that unfolds out of our giant conference room. We are looking to present a digital avatar of OML’s legendary warehouse HQ. This space will be home to intimate comedy performances, loud and raucous music sets, while also continuing to be a way for our teams to be connected and stay linked digitally, in an environment that we thrive in creatively.
