Now the celebrated channel shall come to a close with one of the most heartfelt and honest portrayals of a family coping apart at the seams through the Iranian director Asghar Farhadi’s brilliant film, “A Separation,”

This film is an insight to a married couple’s story who are struggling to make the bold decisions of life. They face this difficult dilemma of either in order to improve the life of their child they shift their child to another country or to stay in Iran and look after a deteriorating parent who has Alzheimer's disease. In the beginning people might hesitate in watching a Persian film, but once they sit in front of the screens the emotional connect becomes instant. The portrayal of life by pure & effortless acting, whole set of the movie being a common man’s household life and without the unnecessary glamour matches with the wavelength of a common man, making it a film that is certainly one to watch once in a lifetime.

The story showcased in A Separation make the viewers feel that there is a thin boundary line between good and bad as well as selfishness and selflessness. The plot of this film is dramatic and mysterious. The last scene where a daughter has to choose between her father and mother is the best climax ever and leaves you with a silence which has to say so many things. The movie leaves the audience pondering that who will the girl choose and this is in fact the whole theme of the movie, “A Separation’ where it aptly shows that sometimes you just can’t choose a side and “A Separation” is therefore an apt title for this masterpiece.
