Over 540 women participate in Castrol Activ Scooter Dreamriders contest

About 540 women entrepreneurs/aspirational entrepreneurs from across the country shared their stories / aspirations on Castrol Activ Scooter’s microsite [activscooterdiaries.com] to participate in the Castrol Activ Scooter sponsored Dreamriders contest.

Castrol Activ Scooter Girl in the City (GITC) web series was the most viewed web series globally (39 million views) last year. The series returned this year in its second season with the #ChalUdteHain campaign aimed at providing a platform to budding women entrepreneurs through the Castrol Activ Dreamriders contest.

Ten winning women, whose truly inspirational stories stood out, have been selected to participate in the final episode as part of a unique fashion show – quite unlike anything seen before.

Mitali Meelan, Priyanka Nagre, Simran, Hemangi Vyawahare, Garima Dixit, Geeta Gajelli, Chinmayi Rane from Mumbai; Anoushka Saha from Kolkata and Manjushree M & Garima Pande from Bengaluru are the 10 winners who made it to the finale episode and got an opportunity to get styled by renowned fashion designer Nishka Lulla.

According to Kedar Apte, Vice President Marketing, Castrol India Limited, “We are quite overwhelmed with the response we have received for the contest. What stood out for me was the fact that most participants were really young girls, many of whom were coming from small towns and yet they did not see that as a barrier to pursue their dreams. More and more women in India are using scooters to give them the independence and freedom to do what they want. Through the Girl in the City series, Castrol Activ Scooter aims to celebrate the spirit of this modern, independent woman.”

The final episode of Girl in the City – Season 2 – will be aired on Bindaas channel and Bindaas Facebook page on 23 June 2017 at 6 pm.
