OYO is providing 8,500 room nights for Khelo India event

OYO is providing accommodation to the players, support staff and officials participating in the Khelo India Youth Games 2021. The games are currently underway in Haryana and more than 8,000 players are competing and showcasing their talent in 25 sports disciplines.

Khelo India is an annual national level multidisciplinary grassroot games in India held for two categories - under-17 school students (Youth Games) and under-21 college students (University Games). Every year over 1,000 young athletes are given an annual scholarship of ₹5 lakh for 8 years to prepare them for the international sporting events.

University Games recently concluded in Bangalore while Haryana is hosting the Youth Games. This signals the resumption of big sporting events in India after the disruptions caused by the pandemic last year.

As part of the partnership, OYO is arranging the stay in 1100 rooms across 60 hotels in all the five cities in Haryana where the games will be played. This includes the tricity of Chandigarh, Zirakpur, Panchkula and Ambala and Shahabad. In addition to this, accommodation will also be arranged in New Delhi.

The prior experience of handling accommodation for Khelo India Youth Games gives it a unique advantage. OYO has been associated with this flagship event since its inception and has successfully handled accommodation for all the previous three editions of the games. The first edition of the games was held in New Delhi in 2018. The second was held in Pune in 2019 and the third edition was held in 2020 in Guwahati.
