Parle comes aboard as Title Sponsor for Indo International Premier Kabaddi League

Parle Products has come on board as the official Title Sponsors for the inaugural edition of the newly launched Indo International Premier Kabaddi League (IPKL). Eight teams representing eight different regions of India will be seen vying for a winners’ cheque of Rs 1.25 crore from May 13 to June 4, 2019 across three legs at Pune, Mysore and Bengaluru being the final leg. The IPKL is a brand new kabaddi league promoted by New Kabaddi Federation (NKF) and will be broadcast live on DSport along with Hindi broadcast on MTV, MTV HD+, DDSPORTS and Polimer Music. All matches would be broadcast live from 8.00 pm onwards.

The inaugural edition of the IPKL starts on May 13 at the Balewadi Stadium in Pune with Haryana Heroes taking on home side Pune Pride. The Pune Leg will feature another 19 matches till May 21, post which the League moves to Mysore for its second leg that will be played from May 24-29, while the final leg will be played at the iconic Kanteerva stadium from June 1-4 that would also include the semi-finals and the grand finale. The IPKL in its inaugural season will see a total of 44 matches being played between eight franchisees – viz, Bangalore Rhinos, Chennai Challengers, Diler Delhi, Telugu Bulls, Pune Pride, Haryana Heroes, Mumbai Che Raje and Pondicherry Predators.

The opening contest between Haryana Heroes and Pune Pride will feature the likes of Jitendra Yadav, who has been a part of the Indian National Kabaddi team and was also part of the team for the Kabaddi world cup. V Vimal Raj, who has earlier been part of the Tamil franchisee from the other Kabaddi league will now step on the mat Pune Pride.  Many other names including the likes of Parveen Kumar who was a part of the 2014 Asian Games Gold Medal winning National Kabaddi team, Sunil Jaypal, Shashank Wankhede, Vipin Malik and Arumugam will be seen in action during the League for their respective franchisees.

Parle G has also been associated with a number of sports initiatives previously like the Olympic Gold Quest and the Indian Premier League over the years.
