Patrika expands its footprint in MP; launches its 31st edition from Satna

Patrika Group's recently launched its 31st edition from SATNA region, after making historical success in major editions of MP viz. Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Ujjain & Ratlam. The edition’s current print of more than 25,000, is expected to reach 60,000 shortly, in a month’s time. The cover price is Rs 2 for 4 days in a week & Rs 2.50 for 3 days. The Satna edition covers 5 districts viz, Satna, Rewa, Panna, Sidhi & Singrauli.

Satna is amongst the most promising cities of Madhya Pradesh. Due to the abundance of limestone and dolomite in the region, the city houses many good cement producing industries and contributes around 8%–9% of India's total cement production. Panna is famous for its diamond mines. Sidhi possesses abundant coal deposits which feed major industries across the country. Singrauli is well known for power generation. Major companies operating in Singrauli are giants of Indian energy industry. The majority of people in these areas speak Hindi. Satna edition covers all these regions, where majority of readers speak Hindi.

Defying all doubts, Patrika has established itself firmly in Madhya Pradesh. Its brand of fearless journalism has earned it respect of the readers. As a result Patrika is not only geographically covering the entire east & west Madhya Pradesh; its popularity is today reflected in various surveys.

As per Indian Readership Survey (IRS) fourth quarter report 2012, released recently, Patrika is the only publication in Madhya Pradesh to have added readers while the rest amongst the major publications show decline in AIR, viz. Nai Dunia (75,000), Nav Bharat (9,000), Dainik Bhaskar (10,000), clearly reflects reader’s growing preference towards Patrika over other Hindi dailies.

The survey report of MP’s four cities viz. Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior & Jabalpur, put together, makes Patrika (8,78,000) & DB Corp (9,58,000) stand neck-to-neck in average issue readership. In Chattisgarh, Patrika is fastest growing, and the TR that reaches to 6.28 lakhs.

In Indore city, Patrika is the highest gainer as per AIR while the other major newspapers are declining. Patrika is at No. 1 position in Indore edition as per ABC (July-Dec) 2012. It is generally seen that increasing circulation in course of time begins to reflect in the readership, accordingly. Patrika is already the No. 2 newspaper in all major segments viz. SEC A, SEC B, Urban, Male, Female, Literates (Graduates & Post Graduates) and Age Group 20-39 years both as per AIR & TR.

In Bhopal, Jabalpur & Gwalior cities too, Patrika is no. 2 in all major segments as per the Q4, IRS 2012.

Speaking on the demographic superiority, as per AIR, Patrika is neck to neck with the competitor enjoying huge market share in the major segments like Urban readers (16,23,000 readers), SEC A (3,85,000 readers), SEC B with (4,81,000 readers), MHI 10K+ (4,11,000 readers), Literates (Graduated & Post Graduates) with 5,45,000 readers, Male (12,43,000 readers), Female (6,01,000 readers), Age Group 20-39 years (8,18,000 readers). The total readership enjoys the similar status.

It’s worth mentioning here that Patrika Group has emerged as India’s 2nd largest Hindi Daily newspaper group as per Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC July-Dec 2012). IRS, Q4, 2012 clearly indicates that Patrika has demolished the monopoly in Madhya Pradesh. In a short period the Group has earned the title of being the No.1 newspaper in Madhya Pradesh as per circulation (ABC), breaking readership monopoly in the state. As per ABC (July-Dec 2012) Patrika stands as no. 1 in Indore & Bhopal, the major cities of Madhya Pradesh.
