PepsiCo announces winners of its flagship campus recruitment challenge

PepsiCo India, one of the largest MNC food and beverage businesses in India, today announced the final winner of its flagship campus challenge - ‘Dare To Do More’. The challenge offers a platform to the youngest and brightest minds across the world, to share their most innovative and creative plans and get a chance to positively impact PepsiCo’s future programmes, action areas on sustainability.

India’s country winner, Bijayeta Pati from IMT Ghaziabad, will now compete with winners from other regions to square off in Dubai for the sector finale in January 2020. The winners of the sector finale will travel to New York city to showcase their idea to the global leadership team, along with an international job offer.

PepsiCo’s campus challenge - ‘Dare To Do More’ provides young talent a platform to share their brightest ideas across three categories: Water, Agriculture and Waste Management - all with an aim to make a difference in the company’s sustainability practices. The India challenge witnessed an overwhelming response from 11,874 students from top B-schools.

Speaking about the initiative, Pavitra Singh, CHRO, PepsiCo India said, “Over the years, PepsiCo has invested in creative approaches to attract the bright and young minds of the country. I am sure the winning team will love the experience of working with cross functional teams across R&D, Marketing, Sales, public Affairs in bringing their idea to life. This is a unique onboarding experience for the first-time students entering an organization. We wish them all the very best and am sure they will do India proud as they go into the Sector Finale, competing with the winners from Thailand and Egypt.”

Sharing her thoughts as a member of the Jury, Namrata Rana, Director-Strategy and Brand, Futurescape said, “I would like to congratulate PepsiCo for coming up with Dare To Do More initiative, that offers young minds a platform to solve ‘real-life problems’. It has been an absolute delight to be a part of the panel of jurors that selected the winners of the India Finale based on originality, relevance, and practicality of the solution. Bijayeta Pati from IMT Ghaziabad, who won the India challenge spoke about her experience, “Just to be a part of this challenge was thrilling for me and to win it, is one of my biggest goals achieved. Sustainability as a topic has always been very close to me and when I first attempted to bring my idea to life, I realized that it was very R&D intensive. For the last few months, I have been doing field work, creating prototypes of my idea which I could present to the judges. And now that I’ve become the country winner, I’m extremely excited to compete with the other country winners and work with the best at PepsiCo”.

Dare To Do More ideas were judged by an eminent jury that included Ahmed ElSheikh – President & CEO, PepsiCo India, Gaurav Goel, Senior Director - Strategy, PepsiCo India, Mijanur Rahman- (Senior Director R&D MEA), Namrata Rana, Director - Strategy and Brand, Futurescape and Pavitra Singh, CHRO, PepsiCo India.

The First Runners Up at the AMENA Sector Finale will receive an opportunity to join PepsiCo along with an Ivy League Certified Courses, mentorship from PepsiCo Senior Leaders and an exciting trip to present to Sector Leadership.

The Second Runners Up at the AMENA Sector Finale will receive an opportunity to present their idea to the Senior Leadership at the Country Headquarters and a day of experiential learning with Country’s finest leadership team.
