Piyush Mathur the new MD ' South Asia business of Nielsen

Nielsen Co. ' a global information and media house, recently, appointed Piyush Mathur as a new managing director (MD), South Asia business.

Mathur has been appointed in the place of Partha Rakshit, who retired from the post after serving 28 years in Nielsen, successfully. However, Rakshit will be associated with Nielsen as a consultant on special projects.

Mathur will report to Christophe Cambournac, President, Consumer Research, Asia Pacific, India, Middle East and Africa.

He joined Nielsen in 1994 as a Research executive and worked at various positions across the Indian sub-continent, Middle East and North Africa.

As per media reports, Mathur on his appointment as MD said, "There is a huge spotlight globally on South Asia and India, and I am truly excited to be part of this rapidly growing economy. My vision over the next few years is to help our clients grow profitably, while helping Nielsen transform into becoming an academy company."
