Patil’s passion for writing spans 18 years and during  his career as a writer he has written nearly 6000 episodes . Had he always wanted to be in the writer’s shoes? To this he replied “I was with State Bank of India, for almost a decade and then my interest and passion for the media and entertainment brought me to the television industry.”

As a story screenplay writer, his first show for television was ‘Wohh’ a supernatural series on Zee TV and the other one was ‘Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka’ which was aired on Sony TV.

Taking charge of his new role effective August 26, 2013, the first big responsibility that he faces is the channel’s upcoming reality show, Maharashtracha Dancing Superstar - Chhote Masters.

Discussing about strategies for the show, he said, “The strategy is to provide relevant content and our TG for the show are children in the age bracket 4-14 years and elders too who will watch and enjoy this show. We’ll be using 360 degree media platform and will be focusing much on TV and OOH medium.”

Being positive about the show and the format he further added, “In terms of creativity and the content the show has potential to reach out to the regional and international market as well. We as a channel believe in creating innovative content for the audience in whichever genre possible.”

Prior to his joining STAR Pravah, Patil was with Reliance BIG Productions as Fiction Head for nearly two and half years where his key responsibilities were to develop the regional and Hindi content. He moved on from the company in April 2013.

Patil who has indulged in his passion for writing, now looks forward to re-invent himself as well as the programming strategy at STAR Pravah.

Though there is stiff competition from Zee Marathi and E TV Marathi, channel STAR Pravah continues to lead in the genre.
