Pramerica Life Insurance launches insurance awareness campaign

Pramerica Life Insurance Limited launched an insurance awareness campaign to educate citizens and achieve 100% insurance literacy in Firozpur, Punjab. The campaign was flagged off by Mr. Kulwant Singh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner & District Magistrate, Ferozepur District and Mr. Ravinder Pal Singh Sandhu, ADC (Development). The campaign is set to reach out to 80 locations within Firozpur district by conducting Nukad Nattak’s and captive audience discussions.

In line with IRDAI’s (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India) pilot program, the purpose of the campaign is to take insurance to the grassroot level and to achieve 100% insurance literacy and inclusion in the adopted district. Often consumers are not aware of the importance of life insurance and the where, why and how of purchasing it. Also, the do’s and don’ts are not known to many. The campaign primarily aims to address these issues and to make people aware of the benefits of insurance in their day-to-day life, products available for covering various needs during different stages of life, right buying by way of taking informed decisions along with the rights and responsibilities of a policyholder.

Pramerica Life Insurance is one of the first few insurers advocating the cause of Insurance Awareness and Consumer Education with specific focus in the district of Firozpur.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Anoop Pabby, MD and CEO of Pramerica Life Insurance, said, “When the consumer is empowered through insurance education, his vulnerability to unethical market practices gradually declines and his confidence in deriving benefit from insurance products increases, thereby paving way for greater insurance inclusion. The campaign aims to achieve exactly that by reaching out to the common man and educating him about the need and importance of insurance.”
