Prashant Verma moves on from Grofers after six years

Prashant Verma, Senior Vice President and Head - Marketing and Growth, Grofers has moved on. He made this announcement via a LinkedIn post.

Verma joined Grofers in 2015 as Director - Brand Marketing, User Acquisition and Consumer Insights and last served as Senior Vice President and Head - Marketing and Growth in 2021. He was associated with the commerce platform for more than six years.

In his last role, he led Marketing and Growth at Grofers, being a driving force behind the brand's 20x growth in 4 years pre-covid. A cusp role combining both brand and business, his scope covered GMV growth, brand marketing, user acquisition, digital marketing, retention, product marketing, customer lifecycle marketing, loyalty, partnerships, growth analytics and consumer insights. During this stint, his team scaled annualised GMV from $40m to $800m in 4 years with a 600bps improvement in EBITDA margin. In an additional capacity, he oversaw PR and design as well.

Verma is an internationally awarded growth leader, brand builder and marketer with 15+ years of experience across e-commerce, consumer internet, consumer goods and financial services.

Prior to Grofers, Verma was driving brand strategy for key Lowe Lintas clients in South Asia and parts of South East Asia across multiple sectors including consumer internet (Freecharge), fmcg (Unilever - Foods, Oral Care and Desserts) and financial services (Axis Bank). He has had previous stints across Leo Burnett (brand strategy), ICICI Bank (corporate and investment banking) and Avaya (tech sales).
