Pro Wrestling League Season 2 hit by demonetisation woes

The second edition of the Pro Wrestling League, which was scheduled to commence from December 15, 2016, has now been postponed. The reason cited is the demonetisation drive that came into play on November 8.

Vishal Gurnani, Director, ProSportify, promoters of Pro Wrestling League (PWL), told PTI, “Post demonetisation, the PWL franchises and the stakeholders have asked for time to re-structure and re-plan their schemes. Hence, the date of the League had to be postponed.”

He further said that the revised dates would be announced on November 30, and added, “We will have six teams, just like last year. The Bangalore franchise has pulled out, while a team from Jaipur will be added. The ownership of Delhi and UP teams has also changed.”

It is learnt that the player auctions, which were originally scheduled to be held in November, will now be conducted 15 days prior to the commencement of the League.

As per media reports, Pro Wrestling League Season 2 is now not likely to begin before the last week of December 2016.
