Product tagging introduced for every user in Instagram

Photo and video-sharing social networking service, Instagram, owned by Meta, will now allow all users to use the feature of tagging products in their posts in the US. Earlier this feature has been accessible to only business or creator accounts, but now it is available to all users.
Instagram has included the options of selling products from the app over the past few years and the recent update will make it more convenient for users to easily identify products from posts, stories. Reels will be soon included under the categories for tagging products.
Initially the users need to tag the brand of a product by using the tag people option before tagging products in the posts. Users will be able to purchase products from the tagged posts through a traceable link or purchase it straight from the app. Instagram is also developing an affiliate program with chosen creators to derive revenue out of the sales they make.
A certain business can choose to avail the feature of disabling the tags besides viewing their tagged products and deciding whether they should be visible on the tagged tab.
