PV Sindhu inspires young enthusiasts as a part of Boost Play the Pros initiative

Boost, one of GSK Consumer Healthcare’s leading brands in the Health Food Drinks category, has associated with Premier Badminton League’s team Chennai Smashers. With this association, Boost has taken its communication platform of ‘Play A Bigger Game’ to the next level with LIVE activations allowing young kids a chance to Play The Pros @PBL 2018. As part of this activation, youngsters from Chennai got an opportunity to learn, interact & rub shoulders with India’s ace Badminton star and Olympic medalist, PV Sindhu along with other badminton aces from Chennai Smashers, such as Chris Adcock.

Boost has always been a brand which has engaged with kids directly & inspired them with the promise of unleashing the winner in themselves. The brand’s association with Chennai Smashers is a perfect example of bringing alive this promise wherein kids from across Tamil Nadu were invited to participate in a contest that helped them win the opportunity to Play The Pros as part of the biggest badminton league in the country. The best performer basis the contest will also get a once in a lifetime opportunity to hone his/her skills at the Pullela Gopichand academy in Hyderabad with an exclusive one year training scholarship from Boost.

Commenting on the initiative, Vikram Bahl, Area Marketing Lead, Nutrition & Digestive health, GSK Consumer Healthcare India, said, “Stamina, energy and winning are synonymous with Boost and that’s how we have been successfully striking the chord with kids for over 40 years now. We are extremely overwhelmed with the participation that the activity witnessed and confident that with initiatives like Play the Pros will be inspiring more and more youngsters to emulate their sporting heroes”

Kalai Arasan, CEO of Chennai Smashers, commenting on the initiative said, “I think Boost Play the Pros is a great initiative and we need more such initiatives to groom the emerging badminton talent from a young age to provide them quality exposure, develop their skills and give them a chance to play against international level players. It is heartening to see that Boost is going beyond the usual by providing kids an opportunity to even train at Sir Gopichand’s academy for a year by sponsoring the training cost. It makes our ‘Official Energy Partner association’ with Boost  very meaningful.”
