PVR Pictures files a criminal case against Rajkumar Santoshi

A cheque-bouncing case has been filed against director Rajkumar Santoshi at the Metropolitan Magistrate's Court in Delhi by PVR Pictures recently. The director who gave such hits as Ghayal, Damini, Andaz Apna Apna and Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani gave a cheque for Rs 50 lakh against the advance for film-making, which did not get cleared due to insufficient funds.

 

As per the case, it was agreed and settled between Rajkumar Santoshi and PVR Pictures Ltd. that Rajkumar Santoshi will pay to PVR an amount of Rs. 1, 11, 00,000/- (Rupees One Crore Eleven Lacs Only). Out of said amount, Rajkumar issued cheque of Rs. 50 lacs. On due date same cheque was presented by PVR to its Banker and the said cheque was dishonoured with remarks ‘Insufficient Funds”. The PVR lawyers sent a legal notice to Rajkumar Santoshi demanding the aforesaid payment but Mr. Santoshi failed to make the payment on due date. PVR has filed a criminal case against Mr. Santoshi before Metropolitan Magistrate, New Delhi. The Court issued the summons to Rajkumar Santoshi to appear on 07.09.2012.
