Radio Ad Volumes up 7x in May’22, compared to May’20: TAM AdEx

Overall Radio Ad Volumes increased 7x during May’22, compared to May’20 and 5.7x, compared to May’21, as per TAM AdEx report. Ad Volumes on Radio increased in all weeks of May’22, compared to the same weeks in May’21, with the highest growth (6x) occurring in Week 3 of May’22.

Tally of categories grew by 51% in May’22 and advertisers and brands 3x, respectively, during May’22, compared to May’20. Properties/ Real Estates jumped to the top position in May’22 with 15% share, compared to 2nd position in May’21. Facewash was the new entrant among the Top 10 categories in May’22. The Top 10 categories on Radio added 51% share of the Ad Volumes in May’22.

Properties/ Real Estates category saw highest surge in Ad Volumes with a growth of 12x, followed by Retail Outlets - Jewellers with 35x growth during May’22, compared to May’21. There were 125+ growing categories present in May’22, compared to May’21 on Radio.

Among the advertisers, Vicco Laboratories was on the top with share of Ad Volumes, that is, 4%. Six out of Top 10 advertisers in the list were new entrants during May’22. The Top 10 advertisers added 17% share of Ad Volumes. Nine out of the Top 10 advertisers in the list were new entrants during May’22.

Vicco Turmeric Face Wash was the top brand during May’22, followed by The Kunba. During May’22, total 2.4K+ brands were present on Radio.

Over 105+ new categories, 1.8K+ new advertisers and 2.1K+ new brands advertised on Radio during May’22, compared to May’21. Facewash topped among the new category, followed by Government Universities/ Colleges. Vicco Laboratories was the top new advertiser, followed by Kedia Real Estate.
