Rashmi Sharma & Vibha Bakshi hosts a special ‘PINK’ screening for Mumbai Police

Ace Producer Rashmi Sharma, who made her debut in producing films with Shoojit Sircar's and Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘PINK’ has now come together with National Award winning filmmaker Vibha Bakshi  whose film 'Daughters of Mother India' won the National Film Award for explicitly and determinedly turning the spotlight on the burning issue of gender violence and bias -  have joined hands for a common mission to create awareness on the issue with the help and support from the Police.  The two powerful women who have achieved great success in their respective fields recently held a special screening of ‘PINK’ at a multiplex in Mumbai for the Mumbai Police Department. 

The special screening was attended by top officials of Mumbai Police Department, from Mr. Dattatray Padsalgikar, the honorable Police Commissioner of Mumbai to Joint Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and Senior Cops, all were seen gracing the event with their respective families. Producer Rashmi Sharma who has been depicting several women issues prevailing in the society through her television serials and now film ‘PINK’ has come together with Vibha Bakshi who is best known for her documentary ‘Daughters of Mother India’ to screen together their films to further the momentum for change.

Talking about its future, producer of PINK, Rashmi Sharma said, "My motive of associating with PINK was to convey a strong message to the society. With all the injustice happening with women, it is important to make people realize their humanity and responsibility towards every individual and raise a voice against gender discrimination. Vibha who has worked on very powerful films dealings with gender equality and women empowerment, having her besides us is a privilege. After this screening, we are confident that the Mumbai Police will stand alongside us to spread the message of NO MEANS NO."

Adding further Vibha Bakshi, director/producer of the National Award winning film 'Daughters of Mother India' which also sensitively deals with the issue of gender violence and bias said “Films like PINK are a powerful medium to bring about change and we need more such fire power to come together.  Daughters of Mother India has screened for over 150,000 police officers - who are the front line for justice. Proud to now join hands with Rashmi Sharma, the outstanding PINK team and grateful for the Police support to take the dialogue on gender bias forward.  It will keep the movement going".
