RedBus raises funds to support bus drivers, conductors, helpers

Leading online bus ticketing platform redBus has launched a fund raising initiative aimed at supporting the bus drivers, conductors and helpers of partner bus operators during the current lockdown period.

With the lockdown has severely denting their income, most of the bus drivers and helpers are compensated for every trip that they make.

redBus Cares, an initiative by redBus to help and support communities in need, has taken the lead in ensuring that these individuals get financial aid until normalcy resumes. Pallavi Chopra, Vice President, Brand - Head of Marketing, redBus, commented, “These are extraordinary times for the transportation industry and the need of the hour is quick assistance for the frontline workforce of this industry, to help them withstand or overcome these unprecedented challenges.”

Visitors to the redBus platform are guided to a page that allows them to make monetary contributions to the fund online. The proceeds of the fund are being directly transferred to the bank accounts of 3,000+ drivers and helpers of the partner bus operators who have been severely affected by the restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are reaching out to our customers, business partners, and other allied organisations to help raise this fund. We hope that the financial assistance at this juncture will help them tide over these difficult times,” Chopra added.
