Remaining IPL 2021 matches to be played outside India

The remainder of suspended Indian Premier League season will be played outside the country says the Board of Cricket Control for India (BCCI). The T20 tournament was suspended last week after a coronavirus outbreak amongst players and staff.

Sourav Ganguly, head of BCCI, said that the lockdown restrictions meant that it was impossible to play the remaining 31 games in India. In 2020, the entire tournament was played in the United Arab Emirates because of the pandemic.

BCCI has yet to give clarity regarding where and when the remaining matches will be played.
