Retail Icon Abhay Gupta's years of experience in luxury, carves a new model "Luxury Connect'

Abhay Gupta, recent recipient of the Retail Icon title by Asia Retail Congress, announced the launch of his new initiative "LUXURY CONNECT' (LC).

Abhay Gupta, Founder, promoter and CEO of Luxury Connect, is the former Executive Director of Blues Clothing Company Ltd. A pioneer and veteran of luxury in India, he helped not only bring in but establish luxury brands like Versace, Versace Home, Versace Collection, Corneliani, John Smedley, Tween Damat ADV, Arredo Classic etc in India. Having helped Blues grow from single location to over 30 locations on a pan India basis, he announced his exit from BCC and the formation of Luxury Connect.

Luxury Connect is a service based organization with a clear focus on luxury, aiming at 4 verticals:

Luxury Training and Education.

Luxury E-commerce.

Gupta is supported in this endeavor by Rajat Bhattacharya, Co-founder & Chief Sourcing Officer and Love Ranga, Co founder & Chief Strategy Officer. Bhattacharya comes with a experience of over 35 years in the sourcing and education business with a vast international exposure of joint ventures tie up's. He was instrumental in setting-up and operating for 5 yrs of Pearl Academy of Fashion's Bangladesh Campus. Love Ranga, a NIFT graduate, brings in the required youthful incisive mind and energy, as a specialist in the fields of Planning, Luxury Buying & Merchandising, E-Commerce and Sourcing.

TRAINING & EDUCATION:

With the growth of the Indian luxury industry, a common problem faced by all sub sectors is lack of skilled and trained man power. Identifying this, LC has linked up with globally reputed educational institutes to provide luxury specific education & training at both executive and student level. The programs will further be rotated to major cities and destinations of luxury such that a vast majority can take advantage of this opportunity.

LC is proud to announce the following programs commencing from April 2012.

Luxury Business Management Program Realizing at the very advent of their journey for an existing gap in the Luxury market for trained manpower, Luxury Connect is collaborating with SDA Bocconi, School of Management ,Italy to launch its first Luxury Business Management Program in India by April, 2012. Founded in 1971 by Universita" Bocconi, SDA Bocconi School of Management is a pioneer in Italy and today enjoys international recognition as a leading management School.

Luxury Connect has therefore become the catalyst in helping adapt Luxury Management Programs with the indian luxury perspective and fulfilling this crying need.

Luxury Connect is also in talks with EIML, Paris (International School of Luxury Brand Management) to introduce various Luxury Courses in the fields of Cosmetics, Fragrances, Jewellery, Watches and Hospitality to Luxury Education Aspirants of India. EIML is a part of 30 year old GES ( Reseau des Grandes Ecoles Specialisees) Network. With over 2800 students, the GES Network is now one of the largest networks of higher education in France, comprising of 6 renowned Institutes. Together with EIML, Luxury Connect plans to initiate these Education & Training courses by late Q2 of 2012.

Luxury Customer Experience Management Program: Envisaging the huge shortage of trained and qualified Sales personnel in Indian luxury segment, Luxury Connect has teamed up with Jean Claude Roustant to launch "Luxury Customer Experience Management Program" in India.

Retail Training Director at Louis Vuitton for 13 years, Jean Claude Roustant was instrumental in the development of LV culture across the Globe. Besides LV, he has also served as GM at AIHH (Association of 11 finest watch making brands) and at FHH (Foundation of Haute Horlogerie, Geneva). This Program focuses on Customer Experience, Luxury Service Quality and Retail Sales & Management.

Talks are ongoing with various renowned schools with regards to Luxury Automobiles; Spa & Wellness, Travel and Tourism, Hospitality etc and will be announced soon.

E-COMMERCE: Indian E-Commerce Market is projected to be worth 10 Billion USD by 2013. This is evident already by the surge in the number of new e-commerce players emerging in India. Luxury Connect realizes this potential and is working on a unique "to be watched out for" model which will eventually change the face of the Luxury e-Retail Sector of India.
