RNI extends validity of circulation verification certificates to July 31

The Registrar of Newspapers for India (RNI), vide its notice 607/03/2017-NPCS (part) dated May 21, 2021, has extended the validity of all circulation verification certificates, that expired on or after December 31, 2019, up to July 31, 2021.

In another notice AS/2/2020-21/NPCS dated May 21, 2021, RNI also extended the last date of e-filing of annual statement under Section 19D of the PRB Act, 1867 for the period 2020-2021 to July 31, 2021.

Under Section 19D of the Press & Registration of Book Act (PRB Act), 1867, every publisher of every newspaper is required to furnish to the Press Registrar an annual statement for their respective publications. Non filing of annual statements amounts to violation of Section 19D. The portal for e-filing of Annual Statements for the financial year 2020-2021 was opened from April 1, 2021.
