Rohit Ohri on what makes FCB Group India’s wins at ABBYs 2023 so special

FCB Group India put up a strong show at the ABBY One Show Awards during Goafest this year. Along with four gold wins, FCB Group India was also adjudged Public Relations Specialist Agency of the Year. It got three gold metals for its Chatpat campaign for SOS Children’s Villages India and another gold for its work for Navneet Education. With 52 points, it took home a total of eight metals. Winning two gold metals, FCB Group India was also declared the Direct Specialist Agency of the Year. It bagged the gold for its work for Unaids and SOS Children’s Villages India. With 50 points, it took home 10 metals.

In conversation with Adgully, Rohit Ohri, Chairman and CEO, FCB Group India, speaks about the agency’s wins at the ABBYs 2023; acquisition of majority stake in Kinnect; launch of FCB/SIX, and much more.

“‘Chatpat’ is something that I’m truly proud of, because it is not just the work that has been done by FCB the creative agency, but it is also done collaboratively with FCB Kinnect. It is the blurring of boundaries and working together of a digital agency and a creative agency and creating some work which is world beating,” eleborated Ohri.

“To my mind that’s the best way to demonstrate integration, that is finally coming together of capabilities to produce the best-in-class work, and I think when you have the best-in-class work that is recognised not just in your country, but across the world, that is truly satisfying. It has really been a great journey for us and I think there is something FCB and Kinnect have collaborated together and produced this absolutely wonderful piece of work.”

“The other piece of work that I’m really really proud of is the ‘Tr. for teachers’, which is a great example of how brands like Navneet can make a real difference in the world. When you talk about the purpose of a brand, it is really to get people thinking about how we can make the world better and this the whole thing about teachers and recognising the fact that they are your unsung heroes and how do you actually get them into people’s consciousness to understand. That’s a big thing, because in many ways they are creating the next generation and we need to recognise the enormous contribution that they are making to the world.”
