Rupashi Bangla to serve a page from history; All set to launch Bankim Chandra's Prafulla

Rupashi Bangla, relatively newer GEC for the Bengali audiences, is all set to serve a page from history. A new show "Prafulla', Bankim Chandra's story of Devi Chowdurani, or Prafulla is being brought out from the Brand Value Communications Pvt. Ltd. Kitty.

Adgully exclusively caught up with Soumendu Das, Business Head, Brand Value Communications Pvt. Ltd. (BVCL) to know more about the behind the scenes actions of the show, its communication and marketing tactics and much more.

Speaking about some of the marketing and communication strategies, Das said, "Since the clutter in the market is overwhelming, Bankim Chandra's story of Devi Chowdurani, or Prafulla is a clutter-breaker as far as content is concerned and therefore we are going full throttle in marketing the product. It is a magnum opus from the Brand Value Communication banner, and an endeavour to bring in the experience of celluloid on to the small screen. The product is laced with magnificently rich visuals and very high drama to entice the Bangla TV viewer."

The makers plan to create buzz in a lot of different way around the show. "Apart from regular vehicles to connect to the masses, like OOH, radio and print", added Das, "We're also looking at various BTL activities like road shows and horizontal connect via FMCG consumers at different retail outlets. Since BVCL has strong presence in Kolkata in the News Genre (News Time Bangla) and in the Music space (Dhoom Music), we're looking at actively using these medium to connect. Interactivity is going to be the mainstay in this kind of cross channel promotion, while the print media has already started talking about the show.

Citing some of the associations the show has ventured into, Das mentioned that, "The show has generated interest from amongst both clients and the industry alike. Clients like Dabur and Raja Biscuits have already associated themselves with the show. We're confident of a few more associations."

Das concluded by saying that, "With exotic visuals and high drama, viewers are in for a visual treat that is expected to take Rupashi Bangla to new heights. We're obviously taking Prafulla as "the" product that Bangla viewers have been waiting for all this time."
