Rural India surges Mobile Internet growth: BuzzCity Report

BuzzCity has released the second issue of The BuzzCity Report, a quarterly summary on the trends and forces shaping mobile advertising.

The first quarter of 2011 saw the number of ads served on the BuzzCity Ad Network increase by 38% globally to 23.2 billion ad impressions, representing record levels of both traffic and adspend, primarily driven by ongoing consumer demand for local content.

According to the report, a total of 5.8 billion ads were served in India in Q1 2011 which is also the most number of mobile advertisements served on the BuzzCity Ad Network. India reached its highest levels of traffic to date in March, with 2.4bn ads served to 49.79m unique users.
