‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa wins over social media

‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ has been one of the longest running singing talent hunt shows on Indian television. The show premiered on Zee TV in the year 1995 and has introduced several talented singers. The show’s version for kids, ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs’ has been winning hearts, providing a platform for the pint-sized maestros.

Along with introducing outstanding young singers, ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs’ has also been attracting attention with its promotion campaigns over the years across media platforms.

Zee TV’s ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs’ 2016 campaign witnessed several ‘firsts’ in social media promotion. The campaign secured a Bronze in Digital Marketing Excellence in Social Media at the first ever DIGIXX Awards held on March 10, 2017.

In the 2016 season, ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs’ became the first singing reality show to present individual Twitter handles for the contestants, which gave viewers a chance to interact directly with their favourite artists. The campaign introduced special Facebook profile videos of each contestant, which threw light on the contestant’s background and talent. Furthermore, ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs’ 2016 was the first-ever show to explore the Facebook Live feature, where the finalists conducted live jamming sessions and interacted with their fans. For the first time, Zee TV gave its viewers an exclusive chance to preview the brilliant talent of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs’ Season 6 before the show went on air.

Commenting on the thought process behind the campaign, a Zee TV spokesperson said that the objective was to get viewers connect directly with the singing talent via social media.

Speaking further on the innovative use of social media platforms, the spokesperson said, “For the first time ever, we introduced individual Twitter profiles of every contestant, where the viewers/ fans could connect directly with them, candid profile videos on FB – giving a brief intro on the contestant’s background and talent; live jamming session through FB Live – first ever brand to explore this tool – and connecting live with the fans.”
