Sab TV launches 'Krishna Kanhaiya'

A fun filled humorous ride starting 29th June

Sab TV all set to entertain the audience with their latest offering ‘Krishan Kanhaiya’. God and worship is a personal choice and open to interpretation is the theme for this show by SabTV. It is a witty take on this belief through the eyes of the protagonist-Kanhaiyalal. With this in mind Sab TV promises to take the audiences on a roller coaster ride from 29th June at 10.30 pm. 

Produced by Garima Productions, Krishna Kanhaiya is a distinct yet light hearted show portraying the ever confused and infuriated life of an atheist canteen manager, Kanhaiyalal. The voluble protagonist starts questioning the very existence of God by his persistent call outs and questions to Lord Krishna prompting the divine being himself to enter his life in various avatars to solve Kanhaiyalal’s struggles and by answering his queries in different form.

Audiences are in for a treat for the show promises a different take from every other show and movie that has been made on Lord Krishna so far. Sharing his views on the unique element that the new show will be bringing in, Anooj Kapoor says “Unlike other movies and shows that has been done so far on Krishna like OMG, PK etc those have only address a few issues. Whereas in this show Krishna is going to stay with him and answer all possible questions that might emerge in a audiences mind be it on life or situations around him. Which so far has not been done on the  Indian Television. May be some things are universal but when explaining them Krishna has not taken the current in these shows Krishna will be taking on relevant examples. So here if he needs to talk about children he will address the issue on how children should spend less time on mobiles and more on parents, he will talk about 2015. It’s more relevant, more contemporary and it’s more today”.

The role of Krishna will be played by Siddharth Arora who will be at seen at the receiving end of the incessant questions for God by Nikhil Ratnaparkhi, who essays Kanhaiyalal. Krishna will be seen in a modern avatar and will be donning different traits as to attract and connect with the youth of today.

The show’s protagonist questions the very existence of God whenever in problem or doubt and disputes the reality of God in dragging him to explain situation every now and then. But yet at the same time he believes he is a self-made man and God has nothing to do with him or his accomplishments. The ever obliging Krishna always appears out of nowhere to resolve his queries immediately by adding a funny twist and thereby teaching him a new lesson.

Other than this there are a number of other characters that will play a pivotal part in the show. The role of Kanhaiya’s wife will be played by Jasvir Kaur, a devoted follower of Krishna while his son’s role will be played by Sanjay Choudhary who will bring on the youth factor in the show, representing the culture of today’s youth. Veteran actors like Sudhir Pandey and Shubhangi Gokhale will be playing the role of Krishna’s father and mother.

On asking about the time slot 10.30pm by saying that krishan kanhaiya will replace Peterson Hill. Although Peterson Hill did not work however the show at 11pm has delivered for. Kapoor further added, “We are targeting the entire family as we do in all of our shows except in this case we are also targeting the youth between the age of 18-22 who are usually surfing on the net and television till 12 in the night. Since our show ‘Tarakh Mehta ka ooltah chasma’s repeat telecast at 11pm is giving us a rating of 2, I feel that there are a number of audiences available to us between that time slots as well. The repeat telecast of the show will be at 7.30pm who are unable to watch it at 10.30pm”

On talking about the marketing strategy that the show is going to take, he says “A 360 degree approach, delving into mediums across cable, DTH, multiplex, outdoor, Radio and social media will be seen as part of marketing strategy for this show launch. The promotion will not only be done on home channel but also on a mix of other channel genres."

The show fits in well with the brand principle of ‘Differentiation through Innovation’ and we hope audiences will love and appreciate this offering from SabTV.
