Sabyasachi Ghosh bids adieu to ABP Group

Sabyasachi Ghosh has resigned as Vice President, Bengali Magazines at the ABP Group. He is expected to be with the group till the last week of October.
 
Mr. Ghosh confirmed this news to Adgully. While sharing the news with them about this latest development he also spoke about his future plans. This is what he had to say: “Marketing and media spaces are continuously re-shaping themselves and spinning off new exciting opportunities. My experience across markets and various media forms drives me to experiment with wider options involving traditional and new media increasingly. I expect my next venture shall allow me to learn and evolve as always".  
 
With regard to his roles in ABP during the last 5 years, Ghosh was Vice President Ad sales & National revenues Head, Dailies and SBU Head of the classifieds business of the group for over 4 years. He had taken up the charge of Bengali magazines business as SBU Head later.
 
It is learnt that Madhumita Chattopadhyay, Advisor Bengali Magazines and Editor, Sananda, will replace Ghosh. Presently she is overseeing the operations of Bengali magazines. She had joined ABP as Brand Manager, Bengali Magazines, in 2001 where she worked in various positions and in late 2005 she took on the additional responsibility as Editor of Sananda.
 
Earlier to his association with the ABP Group, Ghosh was with MediaCom, Indonesia, as Managing Director. His career took off with The Times of India Group in Kolkata. He was with  HTA (now JWT) and was  based at their Kolkata office but  subsequently he moved on to JWT, Colombo. Then came his stint as General Manager at Mindshare and he was stationed in Bangladesh where he set up the agency’s operations. Later he was also in Vietnam as Managing Partner of Mindshare.
