Samsung revolutionizing OOH advertising

The outdoor advertising in India is coming of age. Finally! Electronics giant, Samsung, has taken the first steps towards revolutionizing the OOH model. The company has set up high definition LED screens in the Srinivaspuri area of Delhi. The screens are 20ft x 10ft in dimension and outdoor agency Platinum Outdoor has been roped in by Samsung for the task. This unit of LED screens is being hailed as the first digital billboard exercise for a single client and it took over one year of planning and execution to see this take shape.

Samsung's creative agency, Cheil Worldwide, and Platinum Outdoor have worked hand-in-hand from the stage of conceptualization to implementation.

It is a widely accepted fact that digital screens are going to be the next OOH phenomenon and advertisers are going to take to digital screens sooner than expected. In addition to impacting the minds of the consumers, digital screens have other benefits like ease of display change and showcasing messages for several products.

There is a high possibility of this idea catching up in other cities and metros. The execution is primarily based on getting required permissions and clearances from the concerned authorities.

According to media reports, Samsung India is increasing its focus on more interactive displays at retail outlets, shops etc while OOH approach in form of LED screens and touch-screen handsets is going to be expanded in operation.
