Sharp Sight launches eye health awareness campaign

A pioneer in world-class eye care, Sharp Sight Eye Hospitals, launched an eye health awareness campaign on the occasion of Diwali. The campaign is all about raising awareness of the importance of good vision and specs free life for the senior citizens. 
It also highlights the appropriate public health messages should be provided at all ages to encourage healthy lifestyles that promote eye health in the long term.
The acting of Anang Desai, one of the most renowned actors in the Indian film industry with a very distinct voice and delivery has brought soul and energy to the campaign.
As part of this eye health awareness, free vision screening camps providing comprehensive eye check-ups and eye care will be held at Sharp Sight health centers for the underprivileged communities of the state.
The hope is the campaign will create a viral conversation about eye health that ultimately leads people to seek out regular eye exams. 
 
 
Also, individuals can be benefited from talks by ophthalmologists and eye care specialists on serious eye disorders, such as glaucoma, cataract, and diabetic retinopathy, as well as topics on suitable food for the eye to maintain good vision.
“This is the 3rd year we are organising the eye health awareness campaign which is about enriching public knowledge on eye health and wellness in line with the global initiative of Vision 2022: Love Your Eyes. We aim to raise awareness amongst masses on the importance of regular eye checks and promote knowledge in early detection for myopia, as well as other visual impairing diseases,” said Deepshikha Sharma,CEO, Sharp sight eye hospitals 
“Programs like this not only provide much-needed access to vision screening camps and the proper eye care for the people in need but also help increase awareness on the importance of good vision which hopefully encourages people and their families to participate in regular eye check-ups”, Sharma added.
The World Health Organisation ( WHO ) estimates that in every five seconds, one person in the world goes blind. A child goes blind every minute, and it is estimated that over seven million people become blind every year. Studies have also shown that the percentage of children suffering from myopia or shortsightedness is increasing at an alarming rate.
