Shortlists announced, Lions health opens its doors

Lions Health, the new Festival and Awards for global creative excellence in healthcare communications, has opened its doors for the first time to over 800 delegates from more than 50 countries.

25 jury members have convened in Cannes to judge the 1,423 entries that have been entered into Lions Health. The Pharma jury, led by Jeremy Perrott, Global Chief Creative Officer of McCann Health, have shortlisted 66 pieces of work from an initial 517 entries. In the Health & Wellness category, 906 entries were received and the jury, led by Kathy Delaney, Global Chief Creative Officer of Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness, have arrived at a shortlist of 142. Both juries will now discuss and deliberate over the shortlists before choosing those worthy of being elevated to prize winning status.

Yesterday, delegates were welcomed to Lions Health with pre-event drinks provided by FleishmanHillard, allowing attendees to network and socialise ahead of the two-day Festival which has started today. A busy programme of 10 carefully curated seminars will be taking place throughout the day with seminars coming from global thought leaders that include Jim Stengel, President, CEO, The Jim Stengel Company; Leerom Segal, President and CEO, Klick Health; Dr Myriam Sidibe, Global Social Mission Director, Unilever-Lifebuoy; Shirley Bergin, Chief Operating Officer, TEDMED; and Kathy Calvin, President, CEO, United Nations Foundation.

Tonight’s official Lions Health Welcome Drinks Reception, hosted in partnership with Chandler Chicco Companies, GSW and Palio+Ignite, all part of inVentiv Health, will allow for an informal debrief of the day and a chance to catch up with fellow industry members. Saturday’s programme sees a further eight seminars taking place ahead of the much anticipated awards show which will reveal the winners of the prestigious Lions Health trophies.
