ShortsTV partners with MIB, NFDC & IFFI

ShortsTV, the world's first and only 24/7 linear TV channel dedicated to short films, has announced its collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB)National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), and International Film Festival of India (IFFI) to conduct an on-ground filmmaking challenge with the 75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow’.

The 75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow is an initiative of MIB to identify, encourage and nurture young creative talents from across various aspects of filmmaking. In its 2nd year, 75 Creative minds have been selected across various disciplines of Direction, Acting, Cinematography, etc by an esteemed Jury of industry veterans.

To commemorate the 53 Glorious Years of IFFI, ShortsTV is organizing a 53 HR Filmmaking Challenge during the festival in Goa. The 75 Creative Minds will be grouped in 5 teams of 15 members each and will compete to create a Short Film in 53 Hrs. The theme for the competition is ‘India at 100’ and duration of the film will be 6-10 mins. All the 5 Short Films will be screened to an esteemed Grand Jury during the festival and one winner will be selected.

ShortsTV will be mentoring all the 75 Creative Minds and guiding them for hands-on development of various film crafts to create a film. They will get an opportunity to showcase their work at the prestigious IFFI & reach a wide audience via the ShortsTV Network.

Sh Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, said 75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow has been conceived as a unique platform of opportunities for youth, artists and creatives, especially from far-flung areas, to learn, engage and network with the who’s who of the Indian Film Industry at the International Film Festival of India in Goa. This year, in what is just the second edition of 75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow, nearly 1,000 entries were received from all across India, including from places such as Lakhimpur and Sonitpur in Assam, Khorda in Odisha, Krishna and Prakasam in Andhra Pradesh, Theni in Tamil Nadu and Bhandara in Maharashtra, to name a few. 75 Creative Minds have been handpicked to be mentored, from among these applications. I congratulate everyone and look forward to meeting all of them at the 53rd IFFI. ”

  • 53 HR Film Challenge Start - Nov 21, 2022 – 10.15 AM IST
  • 53 HR Film Challenge End - Nov 23, 2022 – 3.15 PM IST
  • Screening & Award Ceremony - Nov 24, 2022
  • Screening of all 5 Films on ShortsTV – Nov 27, 2022 – 9PM IST
