Sita Narayanswamy takes over from Uttio Majumdar at Rediffusion Y&R

Rediffusion Y&R has brought on board Sita Narayanswamy as Head of Operations in Mumbai. She replaces Uttio Majumdar, who moves to a career in marketing. 

Commenting on Narayanswamy’s appointment, Dhunji S Wadia, President, Rediffusion Y&R, said, “I’ve known Sita for a long time, having worked with her at J Walter Thompson. Sita’s enormous talent and instincts make her a valued partner to clients and an inspiration to all who work with her. It’s great to have her return to advertising with the experience she has gained from marketing as well as setting up new global enterprises. She will be a great resource for all of us.”  

Narayanswamy has over two decades of experience in marketing, advertising as well as setting up new global enterprises. She started her career at J Walter Thompson, where she went on to become Vice President and Area Director Asia Pacific Region. She handled large and complex multi-national accounts such as Unilever and working not just in India, but also in the Asia region – China, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and is the person behind many big campaigns for Pepsi, Nestle, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Pond's Dreamflower range, Close Up, Ceat Tyres,  Philips Lighting and Godrej-GE Appliances. 

Subsequently, she joined Zee Entertainment Enterprises as Senior Vice President, Head of Network Marketing, leading the marketing and communication for all channels of the Zee Network as well as for the corporate brand. She continued in her role with UTV Group as Marketing Head, Bindaas Channels. She was also the Chief Marketing Officer for Kidzania Imagination & Entertainment, where she prepared the groundwork for the successful launch of the international concept into the Indian market. 

On her new role, Narayanswamy said, “I am excited about joining Rediffusion Y&R, which has a huge legacy of producing strategically sound yet outstanding creative work for its clients.
