Sony in talks to acquire Ten Sports?

The industry is abuzz with the likely acquisition of Ten Sports by Sony Pictures Network India. As per media reports, the acquisition talks are at an advanced stage and the deal is pegged in the vicinity of Rs 2,000 crore.

Post the signing of the deal, Sony will be able to add five channels of Ten Network to its bouquet, which include – Ten 1, Ten 1 HD, Ten 2, Ten 3 and Ten Golf HD.

Ten Sports is currently part of Zee Entertainment Enterprises. As is known, Zee had acquired Ten Sports from Dubai-based Taj  Group 10 years back.

When contacted, a Sony spokesperson said, “As a matter of policy, we choose to not comment on speculation.”
