Sony India assigns its creative duties to Innocean Worldwide India

In a multi-agency pitch concluded in the first week of June 2019 to assign a fresh mandate to a creative agency, Sony India has appointed Innocean Worldwide India as its creative agency. The agencies had to demonstrate their capabilities in strategy, creative ideation and integrated thinking across a slew of product categories.

Innocean will be responsible for the entire consumer electronics portfolio of Sony, which includes the prestigious brand Bravia televisions, Alpha series DSLRs and Headphones, among others.

Commenting on their new agency search, Yoichiro Hotta, Head, Brand Activation, Sony India, elaborated, “We set out to seek an agency that is willing to partner us and invest in understanding the rapidly changing consumer landscape and the ever dynamic consumer touch-points. Their inputs will be important in shaping our brand’s communication across product categories making it more impactful and engaging.”

The Sony India team put a lot of rigour in evaluating the contenders and finally narrowing down their choice to Innocean Worldwide India.

Divya Rao, Head, Marketing Communication, Sony India, further elaborating on the choice added, “We saw a capable and committed team in Innocean willing to work with us in a collaborative spirit.”

Ecstatic over the win, Vivek Srivastava, Joint Managing Director, Innocean Worldwide India, said, “We at Innocean are grateful to the management and marketing team at Sony India for trusting us with their brand communication mandate. Our stated intent of working with marquee brands is built around building a proactive culture and a committed infrastructure that can cater to their needs promptly with the right strategic rigour and depth in ideation. We will strive to further the aura of Sony in all the relevant product categories with our ideas.”

The work on the brand commences immediately as the sales expect a major boost due to mega sporting events, regional festivals and the primary festival season.

“We are all set and ready to roll on an immediate basis with any briefs that come our way from Sony India. Every marketing opportunity and aperture will be capitalised upon as we progress,” added Arjun Modayil, Executive Director of Innocean.
