Sony PIX to go patriotic this Independence Day

This Independence Day Sony Pix intends to be different from other channels.  In keeping with the patriotic fervour they have planned a special  line up  of movies with an Indian theme and  connect to engage their audiences .The normal trend at Sony PIX  is to air the Big Ticket movies towards the end of the week but with Independence Day round the corner the movies will be aired much earlier in the week i.e. on 15th August 2012.

Mr. Amogh Dusad, Head Of Programming at Sony PIX said, “We at PIX wanted to create a line up which symbolizes the significance of the day to our viewers. PIX will be airing popular films with a strong India connect such as Gandhi, Slumdog Millionaire, Partition, and West is West. These films are unique to the channel and nobody else in the category will be airing such content. Along with these great films we have also arranged a surprise treat for our viewers by programming these with just one break each.”

The line up of the movies is as follows: Slumdog Millionaire will be aired at 11.20 am, Gandhi at 1.25 pm, Partition at 4.40 pm, West is West at 7.05 pm and Slumdog Millionaire (repeat telecast) at prime time 9.00pm

In the spirit of Independence Day, PIX is also sharing a Gandhi Study guide which sheds light on his principles . As a tribute to the Father of the Nation, the study guide has been put together for the benefit of grownups and children alike to acquaint them with the Mahatma.

Mahatma Gandhi believed in honesty and encouraged everyone to speak their mind truthfully. He was against corruption and believed in complete restraint from corrupt practices. Equality was another ideal he believed in.  He felt it was important to communicate and tolerate one another. Self belief  is the conviction required to be successful in life according to him. Gandhiji was an epitome of patience and tolerance and thus he inspired the world to think in a non-violent way. Where leadership was concerned he believed that one has to take initiatives fearlessly in order to lead other people.  Simplicity was another one of his beliefs whereby one can be comfortable and confident with oneself. This would also help to attract like minded people.

PIX has also included a ‘Gandhian’ Quiz whereby the viewer can reflect on the answers and understand better the true meaning of his ideologies and the Gandhi way of life. Watching the movie on 15th August 2012 at 1.25 pm will help viewers to reaffirm the Mahatma’s beliefs.
