Spice Digital Ltd a leading Value Added Services (VAS) provider of India, has officially announced the launch of “SPICE SAFAR”, a one stop travel and tourism solution through Neighborhood Retail Outlets. In an exclusive technological alliance with IRCTC, Spice digital has gained the authorization to act as a principal agent on behalf of IRCTC for carrying out their e- ticket booking services in the country. With this initiative Spice Digital Ltd not only makes its debut in offline travel and tourism space but also does so with a PAN India footprint.

On a succinct media note Mr. Saket Agarwal- Global CEO Services, Spice Digital Limited said, “Spice group is known for being the game changers and the initiators for many firsts in the field of telecom and VAS. Keeping with this tradition Spice is now at the threshold of being the largest travel and tour aggregator in the retail space and has initiated the first milestone with the launch of IRCTC e- ticketing services. We have also launched Spice Safar a brand dedicated to this venture.”

Elaborating the thought behind the launch of Spice Safar, Mr. Amit Nigam, Vice President, M-commerce, Spice Digital Limited said, “Spice Safar has been launched with an objective of taking care of the travel related needs of the general public at large.  The first offering from the brand is Railway e ticket booking, post which hotels, taxis and other modes of travel would be integrated. Retail sector is one of the fastest growing industries in the country today and this is the right time to invest and create an organized system whereby the friendly neighborhood retail outlet is equipped to handle the Travel, Tourism and Ticketing functions”.

Spice Digital, the company behind the brand “Spice Safar” is connected to the Indian Railways in real time basis via IRCTC. The retail agents can log on the Spice Safar propriety platform and search trains, check fares and book tickets online through this interface.

Tourism industry in India holds immense potential and has its demand among various economic strata. Spice Safar seeks to serve the industry by ensuring the availability of the entire gamut of travel and tourism services to the general public by enabling them to be offered in an offline mode by the friendly neighborhood retail outlet.

The gap between need and availability is what Spice Safar aims to bridge. It would be a trendsetting endeavor to offer services to the audience who either do not have an access to internet or do not use it due to lack of will or literacy.
