Spikes Asia 2016: Prasoon Joshi is Jury President for Music

Spikes Asia has announced the names of the 98 jury members who will judge entries from across the Asia Pacific region, 30 per cent of whom will be female. Amit Akali, Mohit Joshi, Bhavna Jagtiani and Lisa D’Costa are part of the jury from India.

The Asia Pacific region brought home five Grand Prix awards at this year’s Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Dentsu Inc. Tokyo, Japan, won in Design for Panasonic’s ‘Life is Electric’; Mindshare Mumbai, India, was awarded the Glass Lion for creating India’s first transgender pop band, ‘6 Pack Band’, in partnership with tea brand Brooke Bond Red Label, and New Zealand agency Y&R NZ Auckland won across Media and Print & Publishing for ‘McWhopper’ with Colenso BBDO Auckland taking home the Outdoor Grand Prix for ‘Brewtroleum’.

“This incredible result demonstrates the breadth and scope of creative excellence in the region, which will be celebrated at this year’s Spikes Asia Festival. Our selected jurors represent the best industry talent, across a spectrum of creativity disciplines, who will be tasked with determining the future path of creative communications,” said Terry Savage, Chairman of Spikes Asia.

The final deadline for entries has been extended until 12 August. The Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity, celebrating and inspiring Asia-Pacific creativity in advertising, will be held at Suntec City, Singapore, from September 21-23, 2016.

Building on 29 years of the illustrious Spikes Awards, the Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity is the result of a collaboration between Lions Festivals, the organisers of Cannes Lions, Lions Health, Lions Innovation, Lions Entertainment, Dubai Lynx, the Tangrams and eurobest, and Haymarket, publishers of Campaign Asia Pacific. The Festival provides the region’s growing creative and advertising industry with a platform to network and exchange ideas, bringing together some of the finest creative thinkers from across the region and around the world.

The Awards, judged by leading international and regional creatives, honour the best creative work in the categories of Film, Creative Effectiveness, Print & Publishing, Outdoor and Radio, Digital, Integrated, Direct, Promo & Activation, Media, Music, Digital Craft, Print & Outdoor Craft, Film Craft, Design, Mobile, PR, Entertainment, Healthcare and Innovation.
