MEC's Integrated Planning Director, Shweta Singh speaks to Adgully about simply being a woman and doing it all. This Mother of two and an aspiring artist has grown up in a valley surrounded by hills called Dehradun. Singh is absolutely in love with nature, Ruskin bond's writing and Gulzar's poetry.

After her marriage she moved along with her husband to Bangalore, Chennai and London and after a gap of six years she came back to Delhi in 2008.

Speaking about women who have inspired her Singh shares, "Mother Teresa, Indira Gandhi will be too clichéd .I would rather talk about the woman who has inspired me most and helped me most in making sure that I pursue my dream of a career in media planning. That woman is my mom. She is some one who is surely lead me by example. Her simple motto in life has been "behave like an equal, to be treated like an equal"."

Singh expresses that her most proud moment in her career has been the Setting up of MEC's Chennai branch in 2005 where she stayed for two years. This got her team global recognition in the MEC network for their outstanding work. In the media space she believes that women don not edge over men as such however they certainly have less disadvantages. In the case of marketing related jobs the gender split is fairly even while the travel is need based and not compulsory.

Although, at an individual level she is sure each one of us would see scope for improvement. She adds, "I have loved being part of this industry and continue to do so."
