Spirit W | Media industries lack packaging: Maxus' Arpan Priyamvada

The highlight of today's Spirit W is Arpan Priyamvada, Business Manager from Maxus Global, another head strong woman who is passionate about her work. Priyamvada began her career with Maxus straight after her MBA from Pune. When most of her friends were seeking perfect package jobs, Priyamvada was on the lookout for something more challenging and gratifying, than just a 9 to 5 job.

"It's been exciting and exhilarating journey so far. I started with Nokia where the need to constantly innovate as the leader in the category was always there. The learning on digital and activation platforms was immense. Now Dulux where we are constantly pushed for ideas and Greenpeace which is gratifying in the true sense to be able to give something back to the society," she said enthusiastically.

Ensuring that she puts hundred percent in what she does, Priyamvada says she takes pride in all her work. "However if I were to name few work specifically, then the entire Nokia N 97 launch, Nokia E series conclave, Dulux activation in West Bengal & Greenpeace initiative of Global Day of Action is close to my heart amongst many more," she added

"The E series conclave happened quiet early in my career. Working in partnership with one of the leading networks, doing a first time live webcast of the event and executing the idea as conceived was very satisfying and a great learning experience," she further explained.

She is of the opinion that today there is nothing like a woman having an edge over men or vice versa. "I believe we have moved past that question today. We are all professionals and here to do our work. I think it's more about competency and talent without the gender coming into play," she said firmly.

According to Priyamvada, the media industry though not very old is growing rapidly. "What we can certainly improve is the way we showcase our work. We have enough great work to our credentials but what we lack is packaging," she explained.

Although there are many women across the globe who are inspiring, Priyamvada derives her strength and mirrors the passion from Aung Sann Suu Kyi. She says among most women, Aung Sann Suu Kyi should be greatly admired for her grit, determination and commitment.

On a concluding note, she explains that how you are perceived by others is an external factor and not really in one's control. "Though it's my endeavour to continue to give my 100% in all that I do. The rest is automatically taken care of," she said positively.

Spirit W brings to you women from the media agencies from whom one can draw inspiration and look up to in terms of a certain zeal for life and work and the determination to achieve her specific goals no matter however impossible it may seem.
