SPNI's popular channels make it back on Tata Sky

Tata Sky has confirmed that Sony Pictures Networks (SPNI) India bouquet of channels is back on their platform. In October the DTH service provider had announced that they removed Sony’s 22 channels along with TV Today Network’s channels also distributed by SPNI. After facing backlash from its subscribers for the move the platform has subsequently returned the more popular channels  back on the platform while dropping some channels as it would force them to hike their prices.

In a statement, Harit Nagpal, CEO & MD, Tata Sky said, “Commercial negotiations with the broadcasters broke down as what they were seeking would have forced us to hike our prices. Hence we have had to drop a few channels while keeping the popular ones on. We request our subscribers to bear with us, as we are doing this in their best interest.”
