Srinivasan Venkatakrishnan appointed CEO of Vedanta Resources

Srinivasan Venkatakrishnan has been newly appointed as the CEO of Vedanta Resources, a leading Natural Resources company. It is led by the mining magnate Anil Agarwal. 

Venkatakrishnan was prior to this working as the CEO of Johannesburg-based AngloGold for five years and has spent a long time in Africa throughout his career. Agarwal has been a big stakeholder in AngloGold holding a stake of 21% in the company and hiring Venkatakrishnan is seen as his big step to expand his global commodity portfolio. 

Venkatakrishnan has been earlier associated with Ashanti Goldfields Ltd before its merger with AngloGold where he served as the CFO before becoming the CEO.
