Star Gold, all set for a spike with Housefull 2

World Television premieres of successful movies seems to be the current trend. From the critically acclaimed “Kahaani” to the action packed “Singham”, leading movie channels have aired them all. The newest addition to the list is “Housefull 2”.
 
Star Gold is all set to air the world television premiere of ‘Housefull 2’ on 29th July 2012. Earlier, Star Gold has aired movies like “Bodyguard”, “Singham” and “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.”
 
These movies have worked pretty well for the channel. Bodyguard gained a 10 TRP while Singham generated an 8.7 TRP.
 
According to official sources, “HouseFull 2” was one of the biggest blockbusters of 2012 which crossed the 100 crore mark. This raises hopes for the anticipated viewership; also because the movie is being aired on a Sunday, it would make for a perfect family viewing. Star Gold is also pumping up marketing initiatives for the premiere.
 
Star Network is experimenting with different movie genres. Housefull 2 belongs to the comedy genre. This makes it different from the earlier aired action movies like “Singham” and “Bodyguard”. Movies OK is also constantly innovating with its content offerings and unique marketing strategies.

We also tried to gauge the opinion of consumers. Some believe that out and out comedy movies help in garnering good responses especially on Sundays when the whole family can watch movies together.
 
An industry official speaking on condition of anonymity said that, “ Sunday entertainment is a lucrative spot. Television channels can cash upon it by providing varied content which appeals to family viewers.”
