Star India bags global media rights of Asia Cup

Star India in a view to strengthen its cricket assortment and line-up in India, has acquired the global media rights of Asia Cup for eight years, starting from 2016 to 2023.  This decision was taken by Asian Cricket Council in its recent meeting conducted on 20th December at Singapore, The following are the events which are included in the agreement: Asia Cup, Women’s Asia Cup, Emerging Asia Cup and U19 Asia Cup (2016–2023).

ACC president Sidath Weetimuny in a media statement said, “The value offered by Star India is significantly higher than any of our previous commercial contracts and it will provide much needed funds for the development of games in Asia ACC is delighted to have the Star India as media partner to the next cycle of ACC. Star has an undisputed reputation as a sports broadcaster and will guarantee increased promotion and marketing of the ACC events globally.”
